5hp maybe if its a 4\" exhaust with no mufflers/cat that exits at the rear axle. For a car with a decent muffler, the gains are significant -- both power AND spool up. IIRC it was Tony1 who tuned a turbo ITR in the 300's with the stock exhaust. Simply unbolting the stock axle-back section's bolts re...

I'm actually going to try a write-up later when the weather agrees with my car. It rained for 2 straight days, now its snowing. :? The 2 main culprits you'll be adjusting: the [scalar] value for the 1st vac column and the value for min mbar in the fuel cut window. This is how you get the initial val...

Take a look at mine, it exhausts back far enough so no exhaust gets into the cabin. I do plan on getting a turndown on it, but I've only driven it a mile with it open. There is an 18\" resonator upstream of it. ATM it is deflected by the stock heatsheild, and exhaust is much cooler there than it is ...

Auto ECu's are the best solution, although older ecu's use the SK5050's. They usually have 2x as many, and you can still use them for vtec in the newer ecu's if you use the mod detailed on pgmfi. Otherwise you can buy individuals from Xenocron. Someone once told me he got all of the junk OBD2 ecu's ...

I don't have the link atm, but someone has developed a system for a saab sensor, and it allows you do datalog it as well. IIRC its about 1/3 cheaper or so.

The EBC I want to use uses a fixed duty cycle, so that I (hopefully) can tune several columns w/o having to even get out of the car to change a MBC. I'm really looking for others' experiences with it, not really comments on my choice. Thanks anyways.

FYI Denver's avg pressure is ~830mbar, meaning -3.9psi. It matters only because you'll have less exhaust backpressure than \"us down here\". Your 5psi of boost may only be ~1psi to us, but your turbo is actually working almost as efficiently because less backpressure = better scavenging = more air i...

EBC - open loop?

How stable is boost with the basic open loop EBC? Does it creep or drop any more than a decent MBC?? By open loop I mean the constant duty cycle feature where you set a fixed duty cycle % . I've never had a chance to use the EBC due to other issues (in life, not in eCtune). The reason I ask is becau...

Well I'm hoping it will display the raw voltage, not the knock count. I wouldn't use it as front line defense, just supplement my tuning. I was thinking about getting a baseline with conservative timing, then adding timing & check for any obvious spikes. Its a motor I built myself recently, and even...

No offense, but you seem to have done very little research on the tuning deal before jumping in and trying it yourself. Its GOOD that you're asking questions, you'll get the hang of it eventually. First off, you need to understand how AFR's work. 14.7 parts air burned with 1 part fuel is an \"equal\...

Calvin has the specifics, but its something to the effect of initial purchase, then you pay a small amount for each new car to tune. IIRC you get X amount of 'free' cars per month, then buy more. I've seen several 'business models' from others since he chose to never replay to my inquiry. Its not li...

The problem is that each injector type is different. Its basicly a magnetic coil pulling a ferrious (steel) rod, and each company has slightly different coils. Unless you pick the injector type that matches yours PERFECTLY, you'll be lean or rich depending on voltage changes. FYI a 12v battery at re...

If you're maxed out the physical adjustments and still 8* advanced, and 101% POSSITIVE that all the parts are correct - it has to be the timing belt that's somehow off a tooth. There's no other way you can accidentally throw it off by that amount, unless your distributor shaft happens to be bent in ...

P30 Knock Sensor

Can eCtune read/display the knock sensor voltage? I just got a cheap Del Sol VTEC, so I have a P30 I can use instead of my P05. However I saw in another thread the knock raw voltage won't be displayed in the PRO version . Can I still read & view the knock sensor's output? I recall seeing it in the g...

The best situation is a daily driver street car that HAS TO be quiet, running a decent amount of boost. Benifits are silence when you want, but helps with spool time & power once you're in boost. I have a 3\" turbo-back pipe that ends just before the 1st turn in my Civic. Just before the cutout, it ...
