Yah, but I don't think I've seen/tuned an engine with anything more than a flat 13:1 CR. That thing is a beast.

I always wondered what sort of Honda engine wanted a 9 heat range plug.

Stock sleeve LS/VTEC plus booooost

This is kind of a sad post, customer got 30-40 miles on the car and did the good old fashioned 1-2-3-2 shift, now exhaust valves on cyls 2 and 3 don't close. Hopefully it just needs valves/guides replaced. Stock sleeve LS/VTEC block with pistons/rods RC750cc injectors Spoolin Performance mini-ram an...

Not much of a dyno shop if they don't have a spare MBC or five laying around they can loan you during the tune session. :? Your torque is flat as a strap because there's no restriction to flow on your setup, yet. When the cam, IM, turbine, compressor - or most likely log manifold - starts being a re...

I've never touched the Zex unit. The 59300 makes repeatedly good power under boost, though, so I would recommend it in a heartbeat. The green car is Torco 110, the red car was 93 pump.

I thought the old AEM 3 bolt gears were dished, and all the newer gears were the 23-802 five bolt setup? Regardless, if those are AEM then that is who SSAC copied. Reviewing the video where you zoom in on them at ~1:40 it looks like there is some non-SSAC engraving to the right side I can't make out...

Center non-Y8 distributors, lock timing at 16 degrees, adjust cam gear until in ignition timing. 8) Y8, IMO, need the Belben degreeing kit until I've been through one and can figure out a way to eyeball distributor alignment.

I haven't had one of those in a while, thank god. I guess part of the reason is that the average tuning customer is a little better educated than 2-5 years ago.

Haha, I love the SSAC cam gears. Why aren't you anywhere in the video?

I suspect it'd do a hair better than 180s. The torque peaked at 6400, right as the exhaust choked. With bigger exhaust the torque would carry on out to 8000 without falling off, same as Sewell's 404 car, and the car would make ~195 to pull a random figure out of my hat. Just conjecture, you never re...

It really takes a second to catch on with the D16... low mileage stock block that was barely milled or decked during the build translates into the the engine is 2-4 degrees out of time. Every D-series needs a cam gear, and to be put into correct time, before the tune starts.

82mm stock sleeve LS, 11.5:1, 404s

This was a fun setup. No matter how I played with timing, AFRs, and cam timing - with the exception of losing power once or twice due to bad cam gear settings - I made the same power as I did the very first dyno pull. LOL. Notice how power flat spots at 6.5K: http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh166...

Got a set of RC750 for the car and retarded the cam timing 3 degrees. Graphs certainly look healthier! Kinda surprised me as the engine reputedly hasn't been decked/milled any significant amount. Maybe the aftermarket cam gear isn't terribly precise? 240 whp at 12 psi: http://i256.photobucket.com/al...
