Same issue here- Avira says eCtune contains TR/Dropper.gen virus. Is there a solution (other than disabling the virusscanner)? brgds Mark

I found the problem and a solution. Maybe someone else can benefit. Apparently HTTP 417 error can be caused when a proxy server blocks communication. I do not know why this happens now, and not before. Anyway, here is the fix. ECtune uses .NET framework to do webupdate. The secret is to bypass the o...
