That would be excellent. Some of us do indeed have money invested in a powerful laptop + power inverter. I just wish I had done the same with the turbo...

EBC, weak spring - huge control range??

GOAL: increase the control range of an electronic boost controller. HOW: increase the pressure differential... I've received info that a typical EBC setup can control up to 2.5x what the spring pressure is in teh WG (given no boost creep). I was thinking what all is involved in opening the WG, and k...

I think it would be set up as a normally open solenoid (fails to low boost), and 100% DC would be unlimited (full) boost. You wouldn't 'leak' any move CFM's of air through the vent than you would with a normal extranal WG; you'd plug the solenoid's vent since [most] stock actuators slowly bleed off ...

Most unofficial tests are based on fuel economy, not power. Hydrogen isn't all that great at power production, unless you have some good ol' liquid refridgeration of it and a little liquid O2 to mix with it... Given that you are injecting an ideal mixture into the intake (2 h2 + o2 = 2 h2o), y...

I didn't think I was that lucky. But we wouldn't need every type of data, nor would we need ever bit it reads. Even 10Hz would be reasonable. I guess AFR/RPM/MAP is okay, but I'd kinda like to see them mapped with thin lines/white background like the datalog reviewer. Only time will tell, espe...

Are there any conclusive experiments done on this? All of the ones on the interweb seem to be very narrow/subjective - only a few tanks of fuel. You really need to add it to a car in which the user doesn't really know the benifits, and run a multitude of tanks/runs with it working. There are too man...

Real-time datalog graphs?

I was wondering if I missed it somewhere... I know about the live plots, but I was really hoping ectune had the ability to display the datalog in the graph box in real-time, rather than after in play-back mode. RPM/AFR/MAP are great for tuning most of the map, but not everything. THe main reason I w...

You might want to alter your driving style in the city. Some motors, usually larger motors, will benifit from lower RPM/higher load. The less load (higher mbar) results in less restriction, so less power spent pulling a vacuum in the wide bores. I actually drive my 1.5L beater in a 'spirited' fasion...

I would highly suggest you resize the pictures. 3mb per picture is very excessive. We do appreciate it, but many people don't have the ability to auto-resize the pics. BTW is it this car?: http://www.ferretsdomain.co.uk/1978-opel-ascona/

So far my LC-1 hasn't given my any problems. I actually have it installed into a radioshack project box with all the switches/ports & works fine with a modded PLX extension cable. I also like the fact I can log many other sensors with my SSI-4 - I can tune virtually any car, MPFI or carb'd. I used t...

what pro and cons are you searching for? injectors are injectors no pro and cons for 1000cc thanks :D Some large injectors have a crappy spray pattern and/or poor atomization. Both result in wasted gasoline, and possible lean pockets. Some are also smaller injectors with modded pintles/balls/discs,...

My car doesn't activate the clutch, but I was under the assumption it wouldn't activate if coolant pressure was too low. I've already got the ac pin to activate as a GPO, only thing I could guess is a bad ecu or bad clutch in your case.

One guy I knew toasted all 4 piston ringlands. Coolant was fine, but it made a insanely huge WHITE smoke cloud and barely ran. Oil smoke isn't always blue, mainly when it doesn't burn completely is it blue. It doesn't atomize like gas at normal temps, and takes more heat to get it to burn.
