First off... were down sizing from the 26s Tires until the race gear box gets here.. second.. we have tested the stock parts for strength & hardness.. and actually they are borderline to hard.. counter & main shafts had a hardness of 66.. some of the gears were more ideal with a hardness ...

well here we go :) Thursday night ended soonier than expected. Third pass down the track, click 3rd gear and cleaned the teeth off the ring gear. This morning we dropped the tranny. Rushed around trying to located another b16 ring rear.. had plenty of gsr's ring gears, just the diameter is to big.. ...

Thanks Joesph.. we make a great team .. Thursday nite @ the track . . we ate the ring gear while pulling hardcore in third gear.. way too much power for the transmission.. Tonights results in Track Results Forum :)

Gonna try and baby the gear box tomorrow at the track. Wish us luck.. its been sheering output shafts like nothing.. can anyone say time to upgrade? LOL Props to Joesph, this man can dial one in!

Ill have you sum measurements in the morning. I ran the non projected 8s this past week @ Indy. 19psi being easy on the car 10.50ET.

The 7173 have a projected insulator. Where the 4554 has a non-projected insulator. We've used the 7173 up until today.

I did some comparisons today: Using NGK 7173 8 Heat Range Gap .30 @ 19psi 440 / 290 (new plugs) Gap .25 @ 19psi 415 / 276 2nd pass Gap .22 @ 19psi 396 / 297 3rd pass Gap .25 @ 25psi 487 / 342 4th pass Using NGK 4554 8 Heat Range Gap .30 @ 19psi 466 / 316 5th pass (new plugs) Gap .28 @ 19psi 449 / 31...

Im curious if the tight gap is my issue. on the inertia dyno with .022 gap the car makes good power. here of late, at the track its breaking up it seems.. guess ill put a set of .030 8's back in and run tomorrow on the dyno. being a non loading dyno may be determing my results. the race gas keeps th...

Im curious what heat range and gappings tuners are having successful horsepower figures and still able to have consistant power.
