I prefer to use a good MBC and set it high, run a hose from the top port of the wastegate to inside the car hooked up to a brake bleeder vacuum pump with the chamber in place - that lets the wategate valve travel without significantly altering the pressure on the upper side of the diaphragm. Suck a ...

You're 10,000'? Do you have oxygen in your car? Think in terms of absolute pressure. In other words, ambient pressure is 14.7 psia. As far as plenum pressures and map references are concerned it wouldn't matter if you were at 50,000 foot. 5 psig on the tables would still be 19.7 psi absolute in the ...

I have yet to see any change in tipout myself. Always pig rich even with it disabled.

Just curious - how is that turbo on the EK setup braced to the block? That seems heavy.

All ECU's are different, the component alignment within them will vary response time. The previous one I used was quick and the rev limit cut quick, but now I have a sluggish turd.

Conditions for burnout control to become active?

I was simply going to use it as an input based rev limiter for a valet mode of sorts - it's not activating with B7.

Seems like a good, hot intake manifold would help with more complete combustion. I know mine doesn't misfire as much when heatsoaked given same afr.

Nothing solid, seemed to be popular belief for a while. More accurate sources invalidate this fallacy. I was hoping someone could confirm that's all it was so I could put it out of my mind.

Combustion temp question

It's been said that highest combustion temps/egt's will often occur at stoichiometry. If this is typical among all cylinder pressures, I don't know, (maybe someone can elaborate.) If this were true, then why do NoX emissions increase at such a rapid rate leaner than stoichiometry. This is in regard ...

Hope you guys are wearing thick gloves that acetone can't penetrate. Gloves in general open the pores in the skin making it easier for the solvent to get in the blood. Eyes can absorb a lot of vapor too. I'd certainly wear a good charcoal respirator if I used that. Castrol superclean would make the ...

Way back, a few years ago, it was decided that the OBD2 IACV behaved differently than the OBD1. My engine is obd2 with the obd1 IACV, no fitv, no coolant lines to anything. Only problem I have is when it's real cold and the oil is thick, I have to give a little throttle to keep the rpm at a reasonab...

Some time ago I had made the switch from a vacuum controlled B&M to the oem unit without the vacuum line. Since the pressure at idle is 57-58 psig on the line, I figure this wouldn't be a problem since I only run 10 psig boost to make for a corrected 47 psi injector pressure. The idea was to elimina...

I think there should be a list of recommendations like these stickied so people don't complete a tune to realize later they need to make a minor change and retune. I went back with an oem regulator and removed its vacuum source also, worked well.
