Yeah I have seen a few issues with the mechanical FITV´s in my time also. Hard to diagnose until you´ve been there already :) /Allan

At one point I had them both working on my own race car, unfortunately it´s not running at the moment so I can´t re-test here for a long while. /Allan

I would go back to the very basics... Which voltage does eCtune show for the MAP sensor? Can you verify this voltage at the ECU plugs as well as right next to the MAP sensor itself using a multimeter? /Allan

The euro-ATR is a weird mix of technology in some places. Not quite old-style OBD2, not quite K-style either. I seem to recall needing some repinning in the harness last time I did one of these but annoyingly I forgot to make exact notes... I do remember one major source of annoyance... the idle con...

Oh and another thing. The closer and more consistent your maps are for a stable AFR in the various loads/rpm´s, the better (faster/more accurately) closed-loop will work in practice. /Allan

The thing is, we´re not always given enough time to complete a full tune for all temperatures, loads etc. So for cars used primarily on the street I more or less insist on a working o2 sensor on the customer car. It´s normal to do some fairly fast cruisng around here so I don´t take chances. /Allan

Simple diagnosis... 1) Check output voltage from MAP sensor using a voltmeter. 2) Apply controlled voltage to MAP input on ECU (for example bridge the input to TPS for the duration of the test). Check MAP input voltage in eCtune to see if input is working. /Allan

Try looking for ECU resets... Look for \"Post Fuel\" active, this will indicate an ECU reset. MSD + non-resistor plugs even? Could be causing all sorts of havoc... From memory I think others have called out \"software problem\" in similar cases where the car´s electrics and especially ignition syst...

To help diagnose, try powering your wideband from a seperate power source so it will work continuously during cranking tests. Log directly from the wideband unit itself to see actual AFR´s. Of course AFR will read as lean/open-air until the mixture fires. But when it does fire you might have a bett...

To my knowledge, the fuel/ignition values are taken from the cells and interpolated. This is all part of the standard Honda code on which eCtune (and others) are based. However, sometimes you´ll find that the engine just \"wants\" some odd twists to the fuel curve. Often I have tried to even everyt...

Did you check actual TDC against the pistons/cam just to make sure everything is lined up perfectly? Perhaps some crap aftermarket adjustable cam timing gear with the sprocket in the wrong place? :) /Allan

Machine ID is calculated somehow through the operating system based on the hardware present at the time. For whatever reason, sometimes USB storage devices can result in a different machine ID... try to replicate the exact setup at the time of registration. /Allan

I have done a couple of conversions in which I simply replaced the OBD0 plugs with OBD1 ones. Comparing OBD0 vs OBD1 pinout, transferring one wire at a time. Tedious but effective :) I have a hunch you might be having some ground issues? Make sure you have a really solid ground to all PG wires. Bewa...
