With no way to quantify the dyno results of every type of ‘Hytech Replica’ produced, the answer to this question is no. However, all the hytech replicas I have tuned have shown a consistent dip between 6-7k. The magnitude and duration all relatively similar. I know that statement is fairly subjective, because there are many factors that play into how a dynamometer records torque data, but I can confidently say that I believe the dips I have experience with were directly caused by the exhaust manifold. I say this because one of the setups came back to me with a new Skunk2 Megapower manifold, at which point the dip was eliminated without any tuning – just out of the box. (I should throw in that it made ~5% more power on the high cam and ~2-3% more power on the low cam). I have tuned one setup using one of John's newer designs (an actual Hytech manifold), and it did not have any dip. So if someone were to design a knock-off of that exact manifold, there shouldn't be a dip. I do not have any personal experience with John's original design, which is what was sold to Rage (and then proliferated around numerous manufacturing firms) resulting in what we now know of as a 'Hytech Replica'.Coupe-r wrote:why? do all hytech replica cause a dip at 6300??
