H22a 450hp @ 17psi

Post by J. Mills »

This customers setup consisted of.. H22a1 PFI sleeves Arias pistons 9:1 Eagle rods Im unsure of the head work Stock cams Skunk2 intake manifold Precision SC6169e .63 a/r turbo GM 3 bar map sensor Precision 1000cc injectors 3 inch downpipe and exhaust eCtune of course Im sure there is more im forgetting These first two runs where on 9psi and 15psi with me turning it to 7300 rpms. The Black run= 9psi The Blue run= 15psi Image Disregard the Blue graph on this next chart. I believe that particular run was on 16psi with ignition breakup issues. This issue was easily resolved with gaping the plugs a little tighter. With the breakup issue fixed i was able to get it running smoothly on 17psi. This time we were turning it to 7800 rpms, and i set the vtec engagement a little lower than the previous runs. Image Image

Thats what im wanting to do to my hatch. Ive got a garrett t3/t4 hybrid turbo i was thinking about puttin on my h22 and just run 7 psi on stock internals. What you think about running that low of boost, do you think it would be safe?

you should be fine. Go with a tubular manifold with proper wastegate placement and it will make things a little safer as well.
