Also known as 35 ten-thousandths. Just in case you ever hear it said that way. Same thing, different way to say it. Simple FYI for the OP.

.001 milli .000001 micro So 1 mm = 0.001 meter etc. milli = 10^-3 micro = 10^-6 nano = 10^-9 pico = 10^-12

this may be taking it too far.. but say you wanted to know how many Ten-thousandths (0.0001), were in 3 thousandths (0.003) you can do 0.003= 3 * something * (1 * 0.0001) which in words is three thousandths is equal to three multiplied by some numbers of ten-thousandths to figure it out an easy way is to convert everything to sceientific notation..e.g- 0.1= 1 * 10^-1, 0.01=10^-2, 0.003 = 3 * 10^-3, and so on so you have 3* 10^-3= (3*10^x) * (1 * 10^-4) so now all you really do is say how to you get -3 (the exponent on the right side) to be equal to the exponent on the right side...e.i what should x be. Well if you recall when multiplying values with the same bases (10's in this case), you can add the exponenents. so -3=X+ (-4) solve for X -3+4=X 1=X X=1 check -3=(1)+(-4) -3=-3 then you go back and you know that your X=1, so 3* 10^-3= 3* 10^(1) *(1 * 10^-4) which is 0.003= 30 * 0.0001 in english three thousandth is equal to 30 ten-thousandths This method can be applied to all numbers ofcourse.. Too much info eh.. I doubt anyone will read that

jared you are correct too 0.0035 can be read as three and one half thousandths or 3.5 thousandths applying to what i said above because 0.0035= 3.5 thousandths since, 0.0035= 3.5 * (10^-3) remember 10^-3 is read as thousandths so 3.5 thousandths= 3.5 times one thousandth which is 3.5 thousandths= 3.5 thousandths
