Well, really, think about it... \"group buy\" for a part with retail cost of $45 or so? Just order one, it´s in your mailbox a couple of days later. Gogogo! :D /Allan

Calvin did you use the autometer amp, or the $45 converter?

That website doesn't seem to have that anymore (no EGT parts on website now), however, I think I have a solution - and its much cheaper. http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSea ... AD595AQ-ND Its a single-chip thermocouple amp with built-in cold junction compensation, can use +5 to +30 volts for power, and requires just a few connections. The only issue is it outputs 10mV per C*, meaning ~8.8v at 860C. Based on my limited knowledge, a simple voltage devider using 2 resistors would cut that in half. This TC Amp should cost all of $17 in parts & shipping from Digikey. :P

http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/foru ... .php?t=371 I found this after all that googling. The 5th post shows the voltage divider stuff. That thread also recommends hooking the thermocouple leads right to the chip, rather than with other wiring. The chip deals with temps very well, so it won't matter if you have very short leads and have it in the engine bay.

Bringing this thread back from the dead.. :) A type K thermocouple, and the 5V K-type adapter are all that's needed to monitor and log EGT's in ectune data logging correct?

not yet. I was about to order it when my Autometer EGT broke. Not sure if it's the gauge or probe. The needle just whips around wildly.
