start up smoke

an issue developed at the last autocross event that has me a little puzzled. start the car up at the track and it smoked like the valve seals were very gone. (every time, 10+ times) Hard launch at the track, smoke like crazy. (pretty whitish blue smoke) once the car is moving, no smoke, asked two people that I passed. no smell, nothing visible. (sounds like valve seals to me so far, here's the part that confuses me) Drove it home, no smoke... did a few hard launches and several runs through the gears then idle to a stop like I would at the track. still nothing. No matter what I do now it will not smoke on start up or launch. ideas? oil - level is not lower than normal (uses about 1qt per track day, always has) Royal Purple 5w30 for almost two years now. coolant - none used EGTs and engine temps were normal engine - '00 ITR stock.

broken PCV valve which always stays open?

hadn't thought of that... I will check the valve.
