JDM P72 Help!

Post by sohcd16y8 »

Does anyone know for sure if an OBD-1 JDM P72 ECU sends a ground signal for the IAB's liek the USDM ecu, or a +12V signal like the OBD-2 ecu's? I keep reading mixed info when I search. Thanks

depends on the year of the P72. some were 12V active, some were ground active. I've seen both, yes it's a minor headache. I've never really dug into what years are what, or what versions are what. It's easy to tell what's what once it's plugged into a car.

Crap, Idk what year it is. I guess I will just wire it assuming that it sends +12v, that way if it sends ground it just wont do anything, rather than risk the solenoid having 12 on both sides. Anyone else know for sure?

either way you wire it, if it activates the other way... it will do nothing. No harm will come to it if it has 12V on both sides.

Electronics work on power difference. The difference of two time 12v is none :D
