B18CJRSC tuned w/o VTEC safe?

Post by EITCP »

i got one JRSC 9psi integra type R DC2, with 240WHP. The person is from neighbour land and he is very affraid to get caught by the police and be tested on a portable dyno. So he is asking me to make him second map on a switch without VTEC and with ignition low to get around 160WHP (similar like stock). So my concern is, is this safe to do it? I know if i disengage vtec i can have high dynamic compression which can lead to detonation or preignition and my EGT (because of low timing) will go up. So if i make this kind of map just for a dyno run and make it ultra rich, will this be safe at all?

If i were you i will tune the all non vtec map to be sure, i don't think it would be bad if tuned properly

I think it will be fine, I have customers that have ran months with vtec disabled.
