IAT sensor placement

Post by poodlemuffer »

Has anyone experimented with the placement of IAT sensor, I have seen some photos of them being placed on the boost pipe away from the intake manifold. I am mapping a b18c turbo at the moment and notice after it has been driven hard and comes to a stop the heat soak must be affecting the sensor and it runs lean.i know to adjust the settings for correction. But how much difference does it make moving the sensor? :?:

I got quite some good results when I changed the position of the IAT sensor. I used an Civic EK4 sensor but that was on a NA motor. Less heat soak problems!

I live in Arizona and I ran into the say problem. I used an IAT sensor off an Accord with an aluminum bung. I recommend the Accord type because it's threaded and will not come out. We welded it to the bottom side of the charge pipe. No more heat soak. Very inexpensive.
