What type of oil pressure sensor to use?

Post by eg6auto »

I have an automatic P30-950 ecu. I have an auto trans turbo setup. I need to monitor oil pressure, but I don't want to run any guages. I'm using a TunerviewII Lcd, and will be installing a Tunerview RD1 soon. What type of readout does the oil pressure sender on the back of the block give? What type of oil pressure sensor can I use to wire into the ECU? I want to mount it to the remote oil filter.

Most electric senders for aftermarket gauges are a resistance value; others like GM 3 pin and whatnot provide a voltage profile (not exact in my own expirance). Depending on the input used; an appropriate sensor needs to be used.

Motorsport sensors are often 0-5 volt, connected very much like our MAP sensors. SPA gauges uses these, for example. These should work no problem on the ECU. Do remember to remove R136 and R138 if you choose D10, though. /Allan
