Barro Corrections?

Post by Almighty-Si »

Any work on this being done? I am making my way down to North Carolina again in April to goto the moutains and this would help me greatly. When I went up there last year my A/F's were all over the place being I was going up and down 1000-6000 ft up :D When I got on top on the Blueridge Parkway at 6053 ft I had to pull 7% of my fuel in my boost area to get it to low 11's ! I think if this worked my gas tank would be thankful :D

Calvin, am I correct to assume this would be happening because of slight variations in calculations based upon final multiplier and injector size multiplier? Eh, maybe those are just software side, and not ROM side... I have no clue. Sorry if this doesn't make sense, but it does to me.

Am I correct when I assume your AFR's were mostly okay for lower-load areas? The baro only corrects for intake manifold pressure, not exhaust, and was only meant for NA opperation. This is what throws high-alt dynos off - the reduced backpressure helps the turbo, especially at load points where exhaust pressure is high. Essentially its like going from a 3\" to a 4\" exhaust using the 3\" tune. Its fine when NA, but goes to hell when in boost. The efficiency of the turbo plays a much smaller part than people think, unless you're running in a very inefficient area of it. You'd just need the ability to modify the baro correction for boost.
