Does ECtune have to be in the car and all hooked up to make a base map? I just tried to make one last night in my office and it wouldnt let me do it. It would not let me click new or anything. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks

not hooked to the car but it does need registered. If you look at the title bar does it say datalogger or pro or diy? If it's not registered it will say datalogger and the edditing features will be disabled

correct, eCtune will not work for anything but logging until it's registered.

if you have already paid for it (PRO/DIY/Dealer) then fill out the registration tab in the menus; otherwise visit that website link to purchase.
