I have had my ectune pro lisence for about a month or so have have only gotten to actually get in the car and get a chance to experment with it once before today and everything worked perfect. Today however i had a problem with the serial connection between my laptop and ectune that (after looking on here) can most likey be fixed by running a force update. My problem lies with the update itself everytime i try to run force update i get 2 errors. the first is one saying that it cannot find part of path: c:programfiles/ectune/base_roms. I did some searching and found a post about this that said to unistall and reinstall, so i did. This worked fine untill i tried to run the force update again. The second error im getting says that it failed with error: there is an error in XML document (usually a diffrent large number here). Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have done searching on here and havent been able to find much concerning the problem im having nevertheless im sorry if this has been posted before with answers.
don't worry about the missing directory; I get that now and then... eCtune still works fine. second suggestion; get your old second (ostrich) license.xml you were sent last, save it to your desktop. delete the one int he ectune folder, and move the one fromt he desktop to the folder and try re-loading eCtune again... tis a hunch.

Which is a debug message ? The one about the missing base rom or about the XML document? I'm sorry I cannot test to see if replacing the license works I'm at work right now, but ill check at 5.
base_rom. XMl save to desktop as license.xml and copy to ectune folder disable anti-virus

It worked! thanks for all of your help. Just one question since i put the license in the directory that was sent to me before registering my ostrich, will it still reconize it?
