cold idle questions

Post by blowngsr1 »

I know that my idle on a cold engine (20-50 degrees) will be rich. but i think that running a 10.05 -10.8 afr is a little much. i have tried to adjust the ect fuel corrections but that always changes the afr all through the map. just curious if i can get this to a better afr, and what would be a good cold idle afr? after the car warms up it idles perfect at around 14.7-15.8 thanks Wes

adjust the IAT corrections. i was going nuts with the same issue this past winter until i figured it out. i had to enter a negative values in the idle/low load section of the IAT correction. monitor the IAT temperature when you are experiencing the very rich idle condition then start change values. depending on how big the fuel injector you are using you might have to subtract allot. start with a -5 and work from there.

You can also use rom .64 This one needs serious retuning but it does the cold start a lot better than the older versions.
