before i reinstall windows, can i save my \"liscense.xml\" file and the \"Settings\" folder and then just paste them back into the ectune folder after the reinstall? will that work so i don't have to go through registration and request another liscense for my ostrich?

You don't have to do anything...the last version has expired and Calvin hasn't put up the new one yet...when he puts it up, he will send an e-mail to update...when he does, run force update and you will be back in business.

You're missing the point, it wasn't the force update you did that locked the system, it's locked because current ectune version has expired and Calvin hasn't released a new version yet, valid for another month. This policy it's needing some adjustments.

Yes we are all having the same problem. Though I just got the e-mail and ran the force update and it's still expired...LoL But ya, you will get that message anytime the software expires before Calvin releases an update. So for next time, just wait until you get an e-mail from Calvin, then run force update and everything should be fine.

Well I got it to open but it won't open my ROM...there is another issue...I will start a new thread. Try running force update again and see if it will open.
