ECT reading
My ECT's were just at over 200 deg F, way higher than they've ever been before. This was at idle, btw. Yet my coolant guage was still sitting at normal. I tried to reload my previous crome tune to my ostrich to verify the reading, and I couldn't. My ostrich seems to only respond to ectune now. I tried to reinstall the firmware, but the moates firmware updater claims that the one I'm trying to upload (the same one I had just uploaded 2 days ago) was invalid. Does ectune \"brick\" the ostrich? Also, moates.net has removed the links to older ostrich firmware versions. What gives?

If you pair your ostrich to eCtune you can only use it with eCtune. It doesn't brick anything. ECT is working good.

yes there is by resetting the ostrich. But then your ostrich license won't be valid. And we won't make license all day.

I found a way to switch between \"stock\" and ectune on the ostrich without needing to reset the license. Thankfully I found old versions of the moates firmware updater and firmware on my other system. I also tried to read the bin off the ostrich after downgrading the firmware, and it didn't work, so this method does not defeat the ectune protection. Using this method, I switched between ectune and crome datalogging to check the ECT and IAT values. Ectune shows both values at almost 20 degrees F higher than crome does. I just checked my Service manual, and the radiator fan is supposed to come on between 198 and 208 F, so I'll just assume ectune is correct and go by that.
