Just for the heck of it, measure the ohmage of the solenoid to rule out a short in the coil.

set mbar to 100, tried 5% tried 10% still over boosted. but check this out, i changed the setting to normally open (GM) and now it works. im not sure if fast spool duty works or not, but at 35% duty, it holds at 12 psi, anything below 30% duty and it holds at 10 psi. so why would a mac solenoid from xenocron be normally open? the guides didnt say anything about that, but it works now... doesnt get hot anymore either, stays cool.

that is possible.. meaning wrong connections to solenoid. you hooked it up wrong... I'll tell u how to do.. Whate waste gate? Do you want to use topport... E.g. 30% should go slower then duty at 90%... if you have the vacumn source to wastegate(no topport). you need to have your Solenoid as NORMALLY open... if blow into the solenoid it should come out somewhere that goes to the wastegate port. Where u blew in goes to vacumn source...(NO) Option two(topport) blow in the solenooid and where stay closed goes to topport. side u blew in goes t on the vacumn source to lower port wastegate... what happens is.... u bleed(fake the botton port) and you blow the extra pressure through topport on WG spring.(NC) Option 3... Just bleed the line from vacumn to wastegate....(Needs NC) so u have to figure how to use it and use NC/NO

i didnt hook it up wrong, port #1 = vac source port #2 = top of wastegate mac solenoid = normally closed right? what ever, as long as it works.

I believe I have resolved a couple of important issues at this point. I started another thread a few days ago, but I'll finish here. On MY P72, the IAB output would not properly control the solenoid so you get the \"woodpecker effect\" - buzz a bit then hesitate, that is at lower duty cycles. Added the EGR output and the solenoid works beautifully - a constant buzz similar to the IACV and it will go at low as 5% and high as 95%. BUT, the normally open and normally closed selection is BACKWARDS. It is wired correctly unless the pins in the solenoid are backwards, which I did not touch. This is a Xenocron unit. Hope this helps someone out. I'm just glad I got the dam thing working.

shit so you had the same problem i did, eventhough the solenoid is normally closed, you gotta put normally open selection. but why would it be xenocron solenoid specific? Im glad i wasnt the only one with this problem.

you can either make the solenoid NO or NC depending on the port i guess... It's real easy.. if u need NC find the port where you can't blow. set duty to 100% see if u can blow through it. On my scope NC and NO for AT lockup and EGR work correctly i'll check again because i have to add extra ebc things
