Newly Installed eCtune with Vista

Post by M54Ci »

Hello, First of all, thanks for the great deal on the Pro version! I got my registration string and pasted the xml file under the ectune directory. I made a basemap and see the base map. It seems to me that the fuel map is not right (with a reg x)? Granted, this is a Visa CHINESE - may have something to do with it. I will install eCtune on a English Vista if this is the case. Thanks for the help! Derek

LOL! I thought so! Thanks for the reply Calvin! I will most likely get it installed on a English XP instead! Would the license.xml work on another laptop or would I need to send in the registration request again? For kicks and grins - here's the error message that was listed.. I believe it has something with \"JIT\" Some Chinese too.. lol! 如需叫用 Just-In-Time (JIT) 偵錯的詳細資料， Changed from Vista Chinese to XP English. Worked without any hiccup. Kudos to eCtune with prompt support and re-issuance of new registration! Derek

I personally experience the same screenshot a whie ago, I think it had something to do with reloading the last tune and not having the right license. Remember I posted you a bug on this ?

On my company HP, the same license file worked in both XP and Vista (bootmagic). Exact same setup on my own T61 - required a different license. Same exact bootmagic setup for dualboot, so I´m not so sure what caused this. The big red X etc. I have seen before. At that time, it was related to .NET . If I removed ALL .NET components and versions and updates, then re-installed eCtune, the installer would get the right .NET stuff, install it and everything worked again. As for Vista - when ever in doubt, try to disable UAC. This seems to solve most of the annoying issues with Vista. Sad but true. /Allan

Well it could. On XP, it doesn't matter if you have a memory card inserted. On Vista, hardware ID change.

Ahh; yeah for some reason, this is the first time it has ever happened; when I installed my 2GB memory upgrade for my tablet, I had to reactivate.... MS must be constricting down a little more these days.

Got the X bug. I just had a new .cal opened and it was showing the low cam fuel table. 1. Click the fuel table to make it active. 2. Press F4, you should have a view in % of the fuel table 3. Press F8 to switch to high cam 4. Press F7 to go back to low cam (boom)
