I was driving my car got in it in 2nd gear and it looked like the rpms went a little past the rev limit and shut off. It took 5 min or so to get it started back, it drove fine for about 15 min then it shuddered so to speak at 3krpms. Like the engine cut off then cut back on. Then it drove fine for another 5 min and I was going up a hill and it just shut off. It took 5 min or so to get it back started, it moved about 5 feet and shut off again. I couldn't get it started for 30 or so min. But I did drive it up on the row back and off the row back into the shop. Fuel pressure is ok, I actually smell fuel as well. Ectune pro tune, latest rom. Please help me I really need to fix this. Specs on the car: 35r topmounted 44mm gate 50mm bov 9:1 81mm h beams b18c1

try getting some logs first off of when your problems are accuring

Ok I will get some logs, hopefully tonight. Is there a way to edit the unwanted info out of the log? Like say the time when its running good? Thanks for your time, dk

moving to support

I drove it to make some logs and it drove fine for about 15 min then shut off and would not start back. My buddy brought me a brand new distributor and it started right up after a sec or so. I'm guessing its the control module? inside the dist or the coil. I will take it apart and test which part actually failed. Thanks for your time, dk

ignitor most of the time.. they go bad.. i don't have the ignitor anymore;)

If you don't mind me asking, what did you replace it with Calvin?

and own PCM that replaces the ignitor.. i'm using MSD tach out on msd digital 6

Cool thanks for your input, I hear the msd digital stuff is nice.. I'm going to tear down another dist and use it for parts. I'm so happy I am going to get to attend an event on sat. I will be takin a few dizzys with me on the trip haha.

dont forget about the M&W stuff. Tony sells a pretty nice kit and elimantes the ignitor..a little pricey but reliable
