my laptop's in for repair right now, i hope it's repairable but in case i need to get a new one, can i get my tune from the ostrich thats in the car right now if i have to pair it to a new laptop, does pairing remove data from ostrich? btw who do i e-mail for a new license, got mine from Xenocrom, do i go directly to Calvin? Tnx....btw i have a dell and only had it for 2 years and the video wen't bad, i was wondering what laptop you guys use and for how long have you had it. What would be a sturdy laptop that can stand tuning duties and a little gaming......tnx.

It should be possible to make a new license which is paired to your current Ostrich serial number. Hence, reading the CAL should be simple enough. To be on the safe side, I never ever return laptops for repair with the hard drive in place unless it is absolutely necessary. That way I can always mount the drive in a USB chassis or something to access any data. This also protects you in case the technician decides to re-load the laptop with a new standard image. /Allan
