I just purchased eCtune and installed it on my laptop. When I try to run it it says I need to update it. I run the force update and it comes back and says WebUpdate failed with error: The request failed with HTTP status 417: Expectation failed.. I did some reading and found out this could be date and time related. I rebuilt my machine from scratch, made sure the date and time were correct and then re installed. I still got the same error. I then uninstalled it and installed the newest version from I cant post links here as this is my first post dot com. Still get the same error. What am I doing wrong?

Took my laptop to work and plugged it in. Update went fine. Just sent my registration in. I am guessing there is something going on with my external firewall at the house. What ports does the update run on?

odd, I run smoothwall at the house. I am sure it is something to do with that. Regardless, I have it installed, just need my reg key now. Thanks for the responses!

Maybe try and reboot the firewall?

I have, it still didn't work. Ended up bypassing it just to do my update.

I also run an SIF (outbound firewall - PFsense) and only have ports 80, 443, 110 and 3389 opend up. Updating works like an charm!
