Best way to change MAP sensor.
If I wanted to change to a different MAP sensor, what would the easiest way to do this be? Would you make a new base map and cut and past in your tuned portions up to the old sensors limit or can it just be changed in an existing cal file? I played around with it a little in hopes of veing able to just change the sensor in the hardware window, but no luck...

eh I figured as much. No problem, I have a good idea of the fuel and timing curves my new motor likes. A retune will be cake. thething96- You know you can run 11.xx psi on a stock MAP sensor right? My car is making around 320-340whp on one right now. If you have a big enough turbo and/or low power goals you might be fine. And if you look at Bugermass's reply, you will see that yes, you need to make a new basemap and tune from there. That doesn't mean you can't transfer all your setting over and rough in the fuel and timing maps based on your old tune.Bugermass wrote:ehh, at this points theres not really an EASY way.. It is being worked on though.. For now I just create a new map and retune..

Yeah, I'm actually going with a JRSC with a B20 crank pulley and a smaller supercharger pulley. I'm buying the supercharger from a friend. His car with the b20 pulley, ported supercharger, and smaller supercharger pulley is producing 14-15psi, that's why I thought about another map sensor, but yeah, cut and paste is not too hard......

sent calvin a writeup on how I think the map rescale should work.. We'll see if its doable
.. I think it'll make is very very easy to go from and smaller map sensor to any bigger map sensor with user defined max load and columbs and retain the orignal tuned values up to where the previous max load AND create new load values that should be VERY close to where they should be (obviously within the limits of the engine setup) ..
