That is a feature of the Tuner version/license of ectune which allows you to save a bin that you created and burn onto a chip. Pro version doesn't have that feature so an Ostrich emulator is needed to store the data you create.

a bin file is what is able to burned to a chip, the PRO license allows you to push the tuning information to an emulator (like an ostrich) which works just like a chip, but with pro, the emulator has to remain in the ECU at all times. With Pro you save what's called a cal file, this has all the information like the fuel and ignition maps as well as all the tuning information for the car, but this file is unable to be burned to a chip. the TUNER license does everything that pro does (and a little more) but the main difference is it allows you to save the tuning info to a bin file for chip burning. This allows you to pull the emulator out of the vehicle and tune another car with it. pro - designed for a single user tuner - designed for a shop or tuning business
this is my $0.02, keep in mind that I can't spell
