whats up guys? i have a friend who is interested in running ectune on his accord,it is a 96 obd2 automatic trans, engine code f22b1 vtec. i know i will have to convert it to obd1 which is no problem, i can get the conversion harness from xenocron. the question is, which ecu do i need to run and will there be any issues with the automatic, i believe his accord has only one computer that runs the engine and trans, so the main issue is it possible to run ectune with an automatic transmission? i also read somewhere that you can run a civic or integra ecu on a accord just run a f22 or prelude map, is this correct? so which would be easier, converting the car to a 5-speed or running a automatic ecu? thanks for the help!!!

To my knowledge the obd2 trannys could be used on an obd1 ecu.... But there may be an extra sensor on the obd 2 tranny... Not sure... Now that I think I may remember reading that you couldn't use an obd2 sohc trans in an obd1... Automatic anyways... Idk. It would be best for you to research that topic. The obd 2 trans may have a differently designed shift control mechanisim. But, if they do not work, an obd1 version of that auto trans shouldn't be hard to find.

we've decided just to go with a 5-speed and save all the head aces
