Hi, since i have installed a Mugen cold fan switch (Activate at 82ºC), the rad fan option set to 84ºC dont works. The switch send the signal to start the fan. If i want to activate the fan in 84ºC i cant because it began to work at 82ºC when fan switch ordered. Sometimes i want to start fan at 85ºC or later and now i cant do it.

there's no way to bypass the hardware fan switch. (without modifying the harness) best way to do what you're looking to do is to install a hardware switch with a temp of the highest value you ever want. Then set eCtune to turn it on at the lower temps.

so with the lower temp fan switch and with the other ECU, you were able to prevent the fan from turning on till the ECU allowed it to switch on? or was this prior to the lower temp fan switch install?

Ecu setting must be below fan switch temp; the fan switch circumvents the ecu's control... If the ecu is waiting for hotter to turn it on, the fan switch already has. It works perfectly fine from all my uses of it.

But, if you want to run the engine hotter because the weather is so cold? with cold fan switch cant do it?. I want to control the fan when the air is so cold and the engine runs very low in temp.

the fan is a backup to the radiator's ability to cool the coolant with the available air flow across it. When the air flow is not enough the fan creates the air flow to do the job. That's all the fan does. if you're looking to regulate the temp on a colder day you're looking at the wrong part, that's the job of the thermostat. It regulates the flow of coolant to maintain a constant engine temp no matter what the temp of the coolant flowing through the system. With a properly working thermostat, fan & radiator combo the system will keep the engine at the same temperature if the air outside is 115*F or -40*F.

Unplug the thermostat housing switch. Set ectune fan setting to a low setting, make sure it works. Problem solved; Te ideal is to use thermostatic switch at a danger temp like 210f (I personaly didn't worry till 220 when boosted), and use the fan setting by itself.... This is how you can go higher. 230f things can go bad easily.

I had installed oem thermostat with oem fan switch and the engine was always in 94ºC to 98ºC if i gone all time on boost the temp up to 108ºC... and must go slow to cold down the engine i used the fan to maintain the temp as long as i can in 94ºC with fan always on using the fan control activation at 94ºC. Now i have installed the Mugen thermostat with fan switch. The thermostat open at 82ºC and fan activate in 83ºC (is what i see in ectune display). The fan is always on... and sometimes i want to activate fan at 85ºC to maintain the temperature up to 80ºC because when is so cold the engine works at 77ºC. I can get the engine run below 100ºC constantly and with boost in a long time, this was my problem when i was going fast and with boost. My car goes at 1.5Bar and temp was a problem. I have mishimoto radiator with 15rail oil radiator and oil thermostat at 70ºC, big open in bumper to get more air to radiators because the intercooler is in front of the two radiators, now water and oil are more fresh

I will test to un uplug the fan switch and look if this work fine like with the other P28 Usdm Ecu. I will test this in my other red civic, that have installed this P28 Ecu. Thanks for the comments

(Jared, since i was started with my turbo project, you always was there to help ,jejeje, i have to tell you that the car now runs very very nice, and ectune was the key to get all works fine

(boost control working, map sensor 4bar working, i had a lot of problems with this...) Regards!

I unplugged the fan switch and the ectune control the fan over 82ºC

Works in P28 and P30.
