I think he needs to give it up and pass it on so we can keep enjoying ectune
You can't make a living when people don't pay what they owe. I know this was a big issue. There were tons of tuners that wern't paying for tunes. Not only that but overall the OBD1 honda community is dieing out. Less and less people are getting ECU chipped and tuned compared to 3-4 years ago.

So much protection/control over DIY users, how can Calvin let that happened with tuner licenses?! It's somehow funny. He can always change the method of creating rom files, I'd suggest that the process of creating a rom file was done via internet. An server would receive the cal file from the tuner and after passing a control check list (license, payment,...) would generate the rom/bin file and send it to the tuner (by email for instance). This way the automated creation would be almost instant (as soon as payment cleared). I thought that something of this kind was already being done, but accordingly to bugermass, I was wrong.

i fail to understand why people are complaining about \"finishing\"? ectune and calvin's online presence?...everything work perfectly fine and it's one of the best OBD1 tuning software's available....so whats the problem? user error i suspect...

I've reported 1 or 2 bugs that haven't been fixed so far and onboard logging for Demon was promised and never implemented, I've swapped my ostrich for a demon to use that functionality. Do you still think eCtune it's a \"finished\" product?

yes i do. do you thing window/mac os and every other piece of computer software is truly finished and bug free?....not a chance...i don't see any bugs in ectune worth ranting about and i have been using it for 4 or so years.

lol I know that every piece of software is likely to have bugs, but that is not the problem, the problem is when they are known and no effort to fix them is done. Plus, in the example you gave (operative systems), they have support for 10 years or so, and when they become unsupported is because a newer version is out, so your example doesn't really applies here. And about the onboard logging feature, what you have to say?

Inboard logging is extremely important. I hate my laptop flying around to record my passes.

I was not pleased to find a link to this thread in my inbox this morning, but at least it's not real. And Brian, shame on you.
