input vs output

im wanting to use gpo to send 12v power to activate a device i have, at a certain rpm...how would i go about doiing this using gpo? what is the difference between selecting the input or output?

input - on signal the software does something. output - software hits criteria and turns on/off output **edit for more info now that I have eCtune on a local computer.** enable GPO ? output - which ever hardware output you want to use input - hardware input criteria options - what you want done when the input/output conditions line up. conditions - what has to happen to trigger adjustments – what you want done to fuel or ignition example: (I’m making this up in my head) flip switch in dash wired to B8, at operating temp and WOT, switch to secondary maps and turn on A15 which drives nitrous solenoid. [input & output]
