Unhandled Exception when I try and load a cal file

Post by ratcityrex »

So im new to this , not super techy so just a heads up. Im a dumbass. But got all the licensing stuff figured out got my laptop to connect to my ostrich2, but when I try and create a basemap I get the window that pops up and says uploading data to emulator with the little green bar that runs all the way and when it gets to the end I get. A box that pops up and says (I have attached a pic of the screen shot) Unhandled Exception has occurred in your application. If you click continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click quit, the application will close immediately. If I click continue It loads the file up if I click quit it will close. If I click details a box pops up and says See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at System.Windows.Forms.Control.MarshaledInvoke(Control caller, Delegate method, Object[] args, Boolean synchronous) at System.Windows.Forms.Control.Invoke(Delegate method, Object[] args) at kn†Ž˜r‰acqd›mqqwo.ˆygndˆ0tp˜lŽ‘˜““Š.š‰•–ŒŽŒ(Int32 ) at ve‰e”ŠdlbšŒuyj˜vŒ.ly7ž1Šcjb“Žll‰1b8.”’‹™vjŠf5‡—tœr9qolŠ.4tˆw™tŠervq7†•h8•Œ8.Invoke(Int32 ) at ve‰e”ŠdlbšŒuyj˜vŒ.ly7ž1Šcjb“Žll‰1b8.Š†—˜–š—(Object , ProgressChangedEventArgs ) at System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker.OnProgressChanged(ProgressChangedEventArgs e) at System.ComponentModel.BackgroundWorker.ProgressReporter(Object arg) ************** Loaded Assemblies ************** mscorlib Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.3625 (GDR.050727-3600) CodeBase: file:///c:/WINDOWS/Microsoft.NET/Framework/v2.0.50727/mscorlib.dll ---------------------------------------- eCtune Assembly Version: 0.0.2.3 Win32 Version: 0.0.2.3 CodeBase: file:///C:/Program%20Files/eCtune/eCtune.exe ---------------------------------------- System Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.3624 (GDR.050727-3600) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Windows.Forms Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.3623 (GDR.050727-3600) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Windows.Forms/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Windows.Forms.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Drawing Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.3053 (netfxsp.050727-3000) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Drawing/2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Drawing.dll ---------------------------------------- startup_lib_net_2_0 Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 0.0.2.3 CodeBase: file:///C:/Program%20Files/eCtune/eCtune.exe ---------------------------------------- System.Xml Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.3082 (QFE.050727-3000) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Xml/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.Xml.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Management Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.3053 (netfxsp.050727-3000) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Management/2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Management.dll ---------------------------------------- Accessibility Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.3053 (netfxsp.050727-3000) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/Accessibility/2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/Accessibility.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Configuration Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.3053 (netfxsp.050727-3000) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Configuration/2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Configuration.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Web.Services Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.3053 (netfxsp.050727-3000) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Web.Services/2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Web.Services.dll ---------------------------------------- eCtune.XmlSerializers Assembly Version: 0.0.2.3 Win32 Version: 0.0.2.3 CodeBase: file:///C:/Program%20Files/eCtune/eCtune.XmlSerializers.DLL ---------------------------------------- System.Security Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.3613 (GDR.050727-3600) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Security/2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Security.dll ---------------------------------------- System.Deployment Assembly Version: 2.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 2.0.50727.3053 (netfxsp.050727-3000) CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System.Deployment/2.0.0.0__b03f5f7f11d50a3a/System.Deployment.dll ---------------------------------------- Interop.MTSSDKLib Assembly Version: 1.0.0.0 Win32 Version: 1.0.0.0 CodeBase: file:///C:/Program%20Files/eCtune/Interop.MTSSDKLib.DLL ---------------------------------------- ************** JIT Debugging ************** To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this application or computer (machine.config) must have the jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section. Really? 48 views and nobody knows anything about this? I got ectune because I wanted more support than crome. Should have went with Neptune I guess. Ive emailed Xenocron about it and no response either. This is BS!

IMHO it may be an issue with your file system, windows install, or hardware... I have never heard of such an error, and I have seen and found a LOT in my days with eCtune. What we need is a step by step set of instructions to repeat this fault. Look in the bug report section for one of my posted bugs and note how I describe the fault and post steps. Do the same and report back, this will give proper info to start finding the fault. The program itself has been very stable for the past few years.

48 views (76 now) and no response because what you're asking is not exactly a common question. Nor does it have to do with cars. I'm not overly familiar with the protocols used to transfer data to the ostrich but it sounds like the buffer is being overrun during or at the completion of the write. What port settings do you have? incorrect Flow Control or Stop bit will do this. this is just a thought, JK knows more about this stuff than most of us.

So I did some windows updates and im pretty sure I was missing some updates or something because I havent had a repeat of it since. With that being said the next time I try and connect I will probably have a problem....lol Ill keep you in the loop. relic1: Sorry if that post came off lippy. I just have been fighting with this program trying to get it to work for 4 days, waiting for licenses and a bunch of other stuff. And I finally get it to work and I have errors. So I posted that post in a fit of rage! Sorry

Always glad to be of service... These bugs are a PITA sometimes, usually a direct cause is a windows or .net core dll bug. The crappy thing is the JIT report you posted only really helps if you know what part of your executing code is; so if you don't report steps leading to it, you can't trace to th point of the fault and find the function that has the same input/output parameters :)

Ok, so sure as shit.....lol I opened the laptop. Turned it on. Once booted up I plugged in ostrich to laptop. Opened ectune. Once it booted I clicked connect to ostrich connected just fine. Clicked get Rom, and soon as it loaded it it then threw up the same problem. So I created a new basemap to see if it would do It and it didn't. So I guess maybe its now only when I try to get the cal off of the ostrich.
