My ostrich pairing test

...was successful. 1. Update Ostrich firmware to 1015 version and select the new \"eCtune Ostrich\" within eCtune. 2. Connect, Open Ostrich Info in the menu. 3. Reset vendor ID. 4. I selcted Obtain license. eCtune seemed to tell me that it had requested a license (I was connected to the Internet at the time) but I didn´t see a confirmation email as I do when normally requesting an eCtune license? 5. At this point the Ostrich operations are (intentionally) not allowed as it is \"Unlicensed\". 5. Sent the serial number (cut&paste) to Calvin manually via email as I was not sure eCtune had done so automatically. 6. Received a new license.xml. 7. Installed new license. Ostrich is now licensed and I tried write and verify without problem. (test was done without access to a car though) To me it seems the system is working as intended. My conclusion: Good work! One thing though, and this is probably more related to Moates than it is to eCtune: \"normal\" Ostrich operations through the old \"Ostrich_1_2\" or Cr### didn´t work for me any more after firmware 1015 was installed. I assume other vendors have to adjust their software to the new protocol or whatever. My point is: Customers/users need to be aware of this. /Allan

if you reset vendor. It will be a normal ostrich with no special commands to write. I tested with ostrich_1_2 in ectune and crome.

Confirmed, RESET´ed 1015 Ostrich works on Cr###. Writing to a reset´ed 1015 in eCtune was broken in 0.0.2.0.r0 but this is fixed now in r1. From R1, RESET wil now correctly show a warning that requesting a new license is required if the Ostrich must be paired again I figure the nature of this feature will probably annoy those wanting to use their Ostich for both a personal eCtune and other software... However - and more importantly - for the intended audience: personal users, it seems to work very well so far. One thing, though: Is it now possible to request the personal, Ostrich´ed license directly from the logger version? And does the program send an e-mail automatically now (as it does when requesting a normal license until now)? /Allan

I did some more ostrich testing on 0.0.2.0.r2 and all seems to be well. I also tested normal \"tuner\" ostrich on firmware 1012, no problems at all. /Allan
