Image I was tuning a ls/turbo setup today, everything went fine. I turned my laptop off to strap down a domestic. I then turned it back on, opened ectune as normal, created a new map using 0.2r5 I then tried to connect to my romulator & got a message saying \"ostrich 1_2 not found\". I then opened hondata and crome & they both connected to the romulator fine. I restarted my pc, no luck... I then went to open eCtune & the application produced the error listed above for no reason. Keep in mind my laptop was not connected to the internet & the only application ran on it all day was eCtune. Things I tried to resolve the issue: 1. Tried un-installing frameworks 2.0 & re-installing it. That did nothing. 2. Tried un-installing ectune r5 and completing a clean install 3. Tried running a system restore to a previous date. 4. Tried installing r4, then force updating to r5 Nothing seems to be resolving the issue.

nathan had this same thing. Was windows install. Very weird I cannot explain it. I think you did everything i would tell to do. What about a fresh install of r5 there is a direct tuner link in tuner forum ostrich 1_2 not found.. sounds like ostrich and not romulator was selected?

This makes no sense, every other application known to man works fine on my laptop except eCtune. I really don't want to have to re-install for no reason, if I have to I will...

Opened Serial.xml in settings folder. <SerialCommDebug value=\"false\" /> is the only line I find with the word Debug in it... Tried making it true, but it did not output a debut.txt

I am going to re-install using my toshiba recovery cd. I don't see any other solution at this time... Considering the circumstances I honestly think the problem is in eCtune. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else when they are relying on eCtune.

Just finished a recovery of the winxp install. Ectune does open now, however the romulator connection is not working. I know the comport is correct as I can connect with flash & burn etc. Anyhow, I really think there is an issue with r5. Let me know what you think Calvin.

i'll verify an older emulator class and the current emulator class. See what could cause that. Before i left i used r5 to tune my car.

Flash & Burn? Romulator and flash and burn have nothing in common. You mean the ostrich is not connected? Explain again please.. What is causing problems what are you using. Romulator or the ostrich? please tell me

the file name is "Comm_Trace.txt" or "Comm_debug2.txt" Can you send that for me. After trying to connect? To make debugging easier. Post as much as info as you can. Please don't confuse things like romulator doesn't connect but it connects with flahs and burn.

My flash and burn works fine and connects normally. My Ostrich V1 connected for about 3 uploads and then stopped. Tried unplugging and switching to a different USB port and resetting eCtune to the proper COM port...no workie. By the way...Auto connect hasnt worked for me in about 5 months.

my ostrich V2 has worked flawlessly, and my flash and burn as well.. I had that one issues with the datalogging but thats been addressed in another post. I even pulled the usb cables the other day while it was datalogging, moved to another car, opened another .cal plugged the cables back in and loaded the new .cal to the Ost2 and everything connected perfectly with no issues and no restart of eCtune or the laptop. So I think its very computer dependent. I'm using the latest FTDI drivers and the latest Ostrich2 firmware.
