My Evaluation Notes...
First successful test of ECTune has happened. I am glad to say the interface and everything thus far with the software is superb. With a simple basemap made; my car started up like a charm. Great idle, and I was definitely surprised at how well it all worked. And this is on a JDM D15B and DSM 450CC injectors. I have yet to do some tuning, but so far, the out-of-the-box potential is awesome; For some reason I was throwing a CEL for my o2 heater; not sure why this is, but I am going to be testing out the circuitry/wiring to see what that is about. The built in code clearing is a definite + I will post any findings or issues here. System and Tools details: P28, P06, and P75 ECU's at my disposal, P28 is the primary ECU. Moates Ostrich 1 Moates HULog Compaq Presario C500 2.2Ghz 1GB RAM, 80GB HDD, Windows Vista Home Basic LC-1 [for comparison/calibration to JAW] JAW ( DIY WB02- http://www.14point7.com ) 94 Civic EJ1 ECTune, CROME, Uberdata Misc. OEM boost solenoids (assortment) Which brings up my first question; Is the antistart feature a dealer feature? or just not implemented yet?

*** Issue Resolved*** My first Error: It has to do with the Sensors pane, and changing the ranged values: The values under BOOST do not stay... I was going through the \"Sensor Setup pane\" and I changed a handfull of values so that my sensors (IAT and ECT mainly) were in the correct ranges and not showing up as red on my logger pane. One thing to add: is for all the values in that pane to add ranges and numbers info for what formats each field can use (in the case of ECT, a whole number 0-300, etc) and if you switch from Celcius to Ferenheit, then these fields should automatically convert as well. After thinking about it, it might be related to the use of non-interger type numbers, and having a decimal value. Pic of eror: http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c115/ ... CTune5.jpg ***Exact Steps to reproduce:*** Start a new rom. click next, click next, click finish. options menu->sensors setup, click on \"Boost\", Enter Min value of 7.0, and max of 7.5 click on the PA settings, click back on boost and min and max are reset to zero. ***bug #1*** still in the boost setting, enter 7.5 min and 10 max click close Error dialog pops up. ***Bug #2*** ***Exact Steps to reproduce:***

Another problem: I just finished a logging session, and when I pulled over, I recalibrated my TPS, then unplugged. When I walked over and opened my laptop back up after getting inside, I saved the datalog, then my maps, display, and logger window are gone, I can pull up the parameters window, but none of the others. They seem as if they are hidden. Here is a screenshot: http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c115/ ... CTune6.jpg I tried closing ectune, etc, but to no avail. I can see the program refresh as it does when you normally hit the buttons, but nothing. I will try hooking back up again to see if it works. ***UPDATE***: After a reboot, I loaded ECTune, and it had a scroll bar; it turns out my window was about 3 miles to the right, and when I scrolled all the way back to the left, the windows were there; but all stacked on top of each other. When I took the screenshot, it was after attempting to close and reload ECTune. When I reloaded ECTune, the window had the scroll bars that you can see in the screenshot. When it first happened, before closing ECTune, there were no scroll bars. I could not recreate this bug.

I know these values have to convert. But it's a hell to do it program wise. that's why i never did it. On the otherhand your bug is fixed. Thanks for the good reporting that you did. If everybody would do that!JaredKaragen wrote:My first Error: It has to do with the Sensors pane, and changing the ranged values: The values under BOOST do not stay... Anytime!!! If you remember the origional NES game \"Blaster Master\"; I used to write 3d games for [basically] DOS; I was working on a Blaster Master sequal project; it was going to be a psudo side-scroll + 3d environment... Was supposed to bridge the gap between BM2 on the Sega, and the Blaster Master released in Japan which was an entirely new storyline. http://www.fortunecity.com/tattooine/da ... oject.html The credits to me are still on the page.... I am really sad the project head never got me the simplest tool so the project could move forward: AutoCAD; my engine was based on DXF quads because the ease of use, and the compressability of the \"models\". As far as the conversion; I see your point on that one; I will patiently await it =D

ok, After trying a different things, I was able to get my JAW Vout profile into ECTune, and did a few logging sessions and adjustments. The datalogs look much better (alot less crazy AFR readout) and am getting results; For some reason ECTune has me basemapped at alot less timing than my CROME map had; once I get some good AFR's all around, I will tackle this one; cause it should have a lil more. Anyways; Good progress is the best progress!

Yeah; I bought the laptop for $400 from Best Buy; and I was planning on replacing Vista; Then alot of the features made me not want to switch.
Calvin, can you email me a high quality (sharp) copy of your logo in JPG or TIFF format? I want to have some stickers made; I know a guy in town and he's doing my Mid-Cal stickers right now.... and I think I will be sporting your logo. I plan to have 2 styles: Reflective yellow with black lettering/text I am not sure if the reflective will be that good of a thing [but the reflective white is what we use on the Mid-Cal badges with a gunmetal inlay], so I will also make Yellow with black lettering/text. I am thinking about 2\"X3\" or whatever it is scaled down within that size; maybe smaller; If people would like, I could have more made

So far things are stable for the most part. I keep getting a random crash when I am loading datalogs, or the datalog graph pane, but I am still trying to get exact steps. Today I managed to procue a direct port fogger nitrous kit with purge, so I will be able to test the inputs and putputs to make a condition based nitrous setup with secondary maps for the ignition, and have it configured to only spool up the turbo when really getting on it. This will bgive me the oppertunity to explore the advanced functions of the software; not to mention playing with the bottle =)

18 days since procuring ECTune. So far, things are great; and I have noticed a few small things: I really had to go over my base timing table and increase all the values about 10 degrees... for some reason my motor would not go into time; rotating my distributor all the way to the back, and still not enough, so I centered it; and adjusted my base timing table to be able to get the car to be at 16 deg. For some reason; I still have not been able to figure out; +10 degrees advance on a D15B is kinda strange. I have ordered a new manifold; waiting for it to come in the mail so I am doing a good stretch of N/A tuning. So far so good. The only major bugs I have run into are ones I really can't track down because they always happen in the middle of a long tuning session, or after I have been using the software for over 20 min. I will get crashes that are linked to the Datalog Graphs window (already posted in the bug forum by others) and it really does not hinder me too much; As long as I keep the datalog graphs closed when not looking at them, I get no problems. When loading datalogs with the graph open (sometimes) it will give an error, and a big X will be through the graphs window. All I have to do is click continue, close the window, then reopen, and its fine. If I load a log with another log loaded, it will bug out sometimes as well; and if I have the datalog graph closed while opening; it will crash once in a blue moon, but I have found that closing the graph when not in use is the best fix. I also have re-animated my old cell phone: Nokia N-Gage. It's a Symbian S60 with bluetooth, so I will be using this to test out the S60 logger app when it comes out. This will be usefull for quick ECU info checks, etc; and maybe some advanced functions can be added in the future for the bluetooth ostrich users. I must say: Hondata: Get ready to loose ALOT of business! Which makes me ponder if Calvin will pursue the K-series development once ECTune is good and stable =) As; The later model ECU's have been successfully dumped, and decompiling is already underway.
