Data Logging going crazy

UPDATE: Problem Fixed. Calvin and I have came to the conclusion that the nokia cable with a dual core processor will cause the computer to recieve trash information. I have tried every driver that I could find with no success. I purchased the HULOG and it has fixed everything. I am having a problem with data logging. It will connect and work correctly until it decides to go crazy. There is nothing I can see that I am doing to cause this because it is doing it randomly. I have my .elf and .cal that shows what I am seeing. If you need the cal I can send it to whom ask for it as long as your registered with ectune.(I don't know if it is ok to post cal's on this forum yet? Please let me know.) you can watch it if you want. Everything just goes crazy with my sensor data. To make it start acting right I just have to unplug my nokia cable from the ecu and then plug it in real quick. The car does not run different when it does this and my cel on the dash does not come on even though data logging and the mil light on ectune says it should be. Thanks again for your guys help!

Did you also notice that when your ect, batt, and rpm drop your inputs and outputs go through the roof? It looks like a christmas tree. Since you said the car still runs fine while this behavior is happening I'd kind of look towards the cable being messed up ie; loose contact maybe just taking a shot in the dark.

I am using the Nokia Cable. I downloaded the driver from Xenocron's web site.Do you recommend I purchase something else to use for data logging? It never did this with r5. What do you suggest I set my Latency to? Is there any test I can do to see for myself. Thanks again for your help!

yes it's not really an ectune problem. I debug it back in the days. I get garbage from the ecu... It's windows .net serial port or it's the driver and dual core... I never had it on my IBM but i did have it on my dual core dell

OK I just got done talking to calvin. Is anyone out there using a nokia cable for datalogging that has a dual core processor successfully? If so can you please send me the driver you are using. My e-mail is [email protected]. I will be purchasing the hulog from Moates on Monday, I am just trying to see if I can make it work correctly with the nokia cable and a different driver. Thanks again, Adam

Works fine on my HP Core Duo laptop and cellphone cable. I use these drivers, first one on the page: http://www.prolific.com.tw/eng/downloads.asp?ID=31 Although I haven't tried datalogging since r5, I'll test it after I finish changing my oil.

Yeah, I am not too sure what causes the issues with the phone cable; I had issues and I had a PIII 550... (Sony Vaio). I got your email and message Adam, I dont know if that number is a home line, but my cell is based on texts and not voice calls so I try to keep from making them cause I get a per minute charge. Anyways; the attachment wasn't there for some reason? can you resend?

Ok, Im looking at it now; This is kinda odd; all the readings go off the charts for some reason... but come back after a few seconds.... how bumpy was the road you were on? It appears that you are on a highway; holding around 70mph 'ish.... Are you boosted? and I see the lack of the o2 data >=D Maybe this is the view of whats going on when the nokia cable \"isn't working\" for most users... *edit* ok, just re-read the above posts.... I swaer, I spent $35 on a HULog, and all my nokia heartaches went away in a microsecond! Heres pics for those who don't wanna load it all: Image Image

Ok you see where it is going from bad data to good data is when I am unplugging and plugging the cord back in at the ecu. I am buying the hulog first thing tomorrow morning. This is the only problem I am experiencing and it is being caused by my equipment, not ectune. I did try your invert question and it worked for me, so maybe just your computer acting crazy. Thanks again

Awesome, yeah; I dont know whats going on with the inverting of the input; I will be uninstalling and reinstalling within the next 2 days to see what gives with it. Thanks again, and Yeah, I really am stumped by your logging info; but I am very suprised [and pleased] at how much support is being considered towards the nokia cable; and not just shunting people off to trying different hardware right away...

I have had no problems using the Nokia Cable, my USB, Moates' USB and the HULOG (which is identical to the Moates USB).
