WinXP, asks for mtssdk.ocx/Do Forceupdate/Fixed

Google mtssdk.ocx, and you get 12 results. Search this forum, you get 2 results. None offer the download, none mention XP. I've looked at the readme's, this forum, nothing helps. Every time I start eCtune up, it asks for mtssdk.ocx, and closes when it fails to register it. I was told it has to do with the LC-1 stuff, but what if I don't have an LC-1? I've serached my fresh install of WinXP, an old install of it, and another new install of it (using VMware). NONE have this file, so why is eCtune asking for it? I'm not sure if that's the error that's closing the app, but it closes right after that error. I also get an error 80040154 box, something about COM factory class, when I first fire it up. Any ideas??

calvin answered it for you on h-t.
please go to forum.ectune.com for support. mtssdk.ocx msg will always show on first install. It's the dll for the direct communication with the lc-1/lm-1. Only on first start you will have that. There is nothing wrong with that. If you needed support or have question i would like you to do that on our forum not H-T
also, make sure all of your drivers are up to date. read the stickies.

Um, which ones? This reminds me of Crome 2 years ago, everything works - unless you don't jump through all the hoops listed in the million of stickies.

I did install the latest version, but it never installed the ocx file. Force update put the right file in the ectune dir, now it works. Thanks. Now I just have to decide what to buy first - new turbo or eCtune...

Had the same on a customers laptop. I ran force update and all the needed files were installed automatically in the eCtune dir. Maybe an small update on the install files would be handy...

I moved the thread covering this into Software Support and sticki´ed it.
Read it here. We´ll have to investigate this, I had a customer PC also not registering the file properly a while back. Users should not see this problem. Kind of annoying, I tested the installer myself on 3 different laptops without problem. /Allan

Go to the innovate website...in their firmware section they an SDK (software development kit) Download it and install...the ocx file you need is in the SDK... Once you install the SDK the ocx file will be in yur system..

Although it is technically correct that installing the file through the Innovate application will work, eCtune is supposed to install the file and register it in Windows during installation. I´ll re-test as best as I can here to find out what goes wrong. /Allan

Same problem here- Xp pro SP2. The \"force update\" batch file in the ECtune root directory fixed it. Took me a while to figure out what people are referring to when they mention \"force update\"...

try this start run cmd [enter] cd \\ [enter] cd \"program files\\ectune\" [enter] dir [enter] Look for: interop.mstsdklib.dll mts.dll mtssdl.ocx If one is missing do a force update.. and you should have all. Message: \"ectune update to ....\" no error messages. If you have all: regsvr32 mtssdk.ocx [enter] succes msg: Dllregistersrv in c:\\program files\\ectune succeded. If you don't have mtssdk.ocx in that directory you will get a msg, fail the register ocx. best support i can give u. I just tested. If you force update you get all 3 files. [Enter] = pressing the enter key
