Ethanol in pump gasoline

Post by greasemonkee »

From my understanding, it was to phase out MTBE in gasoline - to achieve the octane requirements (and clean burn properties?) and to lighten the national demand of gasoline. Who has it now? I think a sticker on the pump is a requirement indicating the 10% blend. Haven't seen any in NC yet. Question - what will the stoichiometry be if mixed 10% ethanol? Or 20%? Isn't there a formula?

we have it here in TX at every pump. Still tune for the same AFRs. Stoic is Stoic, the wideband will read it the same.

Here in NYC we've had it for years. Used the be 10% now it's 15%. I didn't notice a difference going from the 10% to 15% blend. I haven't tuned since the change the car runs the same, A/F's look the same. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Funny I didn't notice that when I was down in NC in July. I usually notice stuff like that :D
