Is the car start without ostrich J1 is not there

When J1 is ON (with a jumper) the ecu use the ROM in the socket not in the OKI if J1 is OFF(without a jumper) the ecu use the ROM IN the OKI

ok, then i guess its there, because i havent done anyting to the j1.

ok, i found the J1 it is without a jumper..

Theres your problem, simple enough. Just add the jumper back in and enjoy eCtune.

nice! :D i will try that first ting in the morning.. tired now.. but why havent i been informed to this before? i have read the troubleshooting guide.. and how to install the ostrich on moates.net. but i havent heard about this before..

When an ecu is chipped, it is assumed that the jumper is installed. By not having the jumper, you are are running off the factory settings so technically, you are not chipped.

ok, but i still have problems with my datalogging. or does this fix that to? it tells me that i cannot connect to the ecu. i have cut j12 and im running a hulog extreme. what can be wrong here?

It shoudl all be fixed once your running eCtune.
