Radiator fan control doesn't work

When i set this under the hardware settings i clicked enable box, set the fan ECT to say 80 Celcius, my current operating temp was around 91 Celcius, no fan came on. Fan doesn't come on until over 95 celcius. Its like its not listening to what i put in the Fan Ect text box at all. Its just doing its own thing. Am i missing something?

in some case, the fan is not controller by the ECU (often in obd conversion). It may simply be activated by the thermoswitch.

You can easily see that the software is doing its' job by looking at the FANC output in datalogging. If that comes on and your fan doesn't then you simply don't have it wired up. You can easily add the wiring if you want.

thanks for the replies guys. i checked the datalog i made of when i had the fan set to come on 80 degrees, and the current coolant temp was at 99 degrees. I looked for a FanC output in my data display, and there wasn't such a thing listed. In the parameters window where u can set the fan control, it says \"fan control output\", and selected in there is FANC (...relay A12) So i should look at my harness and see if there is a wire coming in to A12? What if there is not? How can i set this up so that my fan IS controlled by my ecu..more precisly..What wire do i run to this A12 slot? Appreciate your responses

If you're not wired, which it would seem as though you're not, then you need to add a wire from the ECU to the fan relay.

It is listed here (click one of the pictures) http://www.ectune.com/eCtune/AboutFeatu ... fault.aspx at the bottom. It is in "Outputs" as RADFC. Hope that helps

Ahh, sorry. From the release notes I thought it was labeled FANC as it mentioned there.

You have \"RADFC\" output and \"Fan Control output\" special feature flag.

okay in the datalog when the fan was not comming on, the RADFC box was checked off in the data display on the left. Is this significant? Or does it still come down to the fact that i probably don't have the fan control output (in the parameters windows under hardware settings) wired to A12, when thats what it is looking for?

check if RADFC and Fan control output are coming on. If they do your ecu doesn't have a12 output or you wired it wrong

<---- OBDI 94 EJ1 FANC works like a charm.... I used it a while ago as a safeguard to my thermostatic switch going out... MAnd with this new motor my thermostatic switch on the thermostat housing works; but the plug does not fit into it properly for some reason... in order to get the fan to activate, you have to push in on the plug with about 20lbs of force.... So my car would overheat without FANC because I am too lazy to change out the temp switch on the thermostat housing (don't feel like draining antifreeze.

ok so what if it isnt on my harness then so i just T-splice into the fan switch, and run a wire from that t into slot A12?
