and if your main relay clicks what i have seen before from broken main relay's your rpm doesn't jump. That happens with a bad ignitor.

Iam not going to knock ectune, its a great program. I seen it on my tuners laptop and WOW, its got alot of awesome things on it. Even the anti-theft thing, that blew my mind. Its just my problem is perplexing since it doesnt happen on any other car but mine. My tuner and I are thinking night and day on what i can be, i dont want to give up on ectune, cause i know it can go a loong way. I take back my previous post, or rather part of it. Instead i want to say that it CAN POSSIBLY be my car...So, as we try to figure it out, i shall keep you updated. IM sorry if i offended any creators or workers from eCtune coming on a bit harsh about the program. But I just want both parties (myself and my tuner, AS WELL as the creators/inventors) to understand both veiws from each other. And think about the possibilites. Again i apologize if i was rude about the program, didnt really mean to be. Hope i can get this solved soon

I tried a 3rd (resoldered) main relay last night; it did the nasty and missed/cut out on me.. so I ruled out mechanical problem completely. I checked my J1, and it reads fine with an ohmmeter. Something that really perplexed me; I know it sounds crazy; I was NEVER able to get a datalog of it happeneing, so it hit me, I had a friend drive, and when my car started jerking from the relay clicking on and off, I plugged in my USB cable for logging/ostrich/LC-1 and it staopped in it's tracks and ran smooth as butter.. If I unplug the cable at a stoplight, it would do the relay clicking when trying to start movine, or sometimes right away, but if I left the USB cable in, it's fine... me and my buddy went driving around all night to confirm... no issues when cable plugged in... I don't know how else to explain it.

I had a similar problem with mine as well. While at a stop light getting ready to go, the power cut in and out rapidly. I cut the car off and unplugged the ostrich and hulog......haven't had an incident besides that one. I don't have a log file of it though.

I am not sure. My hulog is connected all the time to the ecu, the usb cord is sometimes plugged into the laptop when I log or watch data. It started when it was plugged into the laptop, so I just figured I'd unplug it (I don't remember if anything froze or went wrong with ectune) and get going since I was on an interstate ramp.

Mine is opposite; I confirmedc it again when starting my car just about 10 min ago. Nothing has been changed between now, and earlier today when I made a datalog (you got an email of a screenshot already) of the tuning session. This in mind: I went to my car, started it, instant solid CEL; I cycled my IGN on and off a few times, and remained with a solid CEL.... so I switched J1 over to OEM maps, and I got no CEL (untill it saw no o2, then it threw a soft CEL)... then switched back to the ostrich, and solid CEL again. I did all of these steps with engine running, and with ignition off to make sure. So, I take my laptop, plug in the USB plug, and start the car again; no CEL, no issues, no clicking relay.... drove like a champ. I need to go through and see if it is my USB hub, the HULog, or ostrich that is doing this; and since I am going that far, I am going to add the LC-1's serial->USB converter to the troubleshooting... But I am 100% sure; for some reason (laptop does not even need to be on when I plug in the USB cable mind you... it just wants to be plugged into a USB port) there is some sort of interference that is happening here... causing it to not work properly. I will do some individual tests with different peices of hardware tomorrow in the daylight.

Now thinking of it. When tuning my car 2 weeks ago. I had a USB hub. And i had eCtune freezing and i couldn't connect datalogging nor ostrich anymore.. I got bad data i traced it down to serial stream. I didn't use ostrich2 / hulog in a log time. I'm using the protype of the old demon. just an FYI eCtune would freeze and wouldn't connect after. i had to unplug the usb hub and replug it in

Yeah, I am wondering if the hub is the downfall, but I only have one usb port ;) I think converting to bluetooth will solve it for me. It is the strangest thing that the ostrich will misbehave when the hub is disconnected from a pc. Thankfully, I can put my ostrich, J1 switch, and HULog back inside my ECU case and continue about my business =)

all the random things like this that I was having stopped when I packed the ostrich ribbon cable tightly inside the ECU with just the plug sticking out the side like 1/2in so I could plug it in. Also I use the hondalog and its perm mounted inside the ECu with jsut the connectors poking throiugh the side.. I'll take pics in a sec and post.. Also I updated my firmware on my LM1 and the issuses I was having with logging innovate have gone away so far.. Be back with pics ..
