more important if ecu is left out for tuning try to ground the ecu and close the lid with all screws... ground ecu. u can try to shield ostrich to ecu cable too

to add; removing the USB hub got rid of my problem; so it is a noise (most-likely ground) getting into the ostrich somehow.

gents.. socket booster and grounding the ecu case will probably fix your problems. I have found that ostrich is prone to noise(at least a little) you don't have problems with crome. eCtune uses 32kb area a lot and there the ostrich sometimes doesn't give data to ecu. But grounding the case solved that...

1 month ago, I had 2 car make me the same problem only when CN2 is connected to a Laptop the problem was the main relay, I replace the main relay on both car, no more issue

FIXED!!!!!!! wow so we tuned the car today using my ecu. i went and burned the rom and sure enough same problem. his ecu had 4 pin header in cn2 i did not chip the ecu, so i haven't looked at the back side of the board. SO I REMOVED J12 AND PROBLEM FIXED!!! Im not sure if it will take care of everyone else's problem but give it a try if the customers ecu is unknown or not chipped by YOU(tuner). Regards, Tony

Ok so yea i got my ecu chipped by a guy named Rich who advertised ecu chipping in my area. Im not saying he intentionally messed it up, maybe it was an honest mistake, but it WAS causing my car to jump in RPMS and the Main Relay to click alot. So, Tony at Facetuned Tuning here in Tacoma, Wa decided to try something out with taking out the J12 thing in the ecu. and Viola! It works!! The problems are all gone and runs good. So if anyone has this problem, try removing j12 and see if it works.
