Just bought ecTune pro and nothing but problems.

Just bought ecTune pro diy and it just wont work. I downloaded the datalogger, got the ostrich 2 filmware download, downloaded the license.xml file from email, tried to force upgrade, and it all went dowm from there. Every time I try to open ecTune, I get a \"invalid character in a base 64 string\" and \"could not find a part of the patch\". I deleted ecTune, tried to get a new download from website, but it wont let me do any more downloads. I'm stuck and don't know what to do. Somebody please help.

I tried to download a new ecTune file from website, but I keep getting message that I'm not allowed to view page, whats up with that?

I actually got the same not allowed to view page when trying to open license.xml license registration download from email.

dont know what uac is, but when i try to open file license.xml i get a message saying \"not allowed to view this page\" tried to download xml software viewer but same message appears\"not allowed to view\".

I did find a post saying how to deactivate the uac with windows vista but im using xp professional, how would you go about that?

in xp no UAC. which email program are you using? you have to save the the file as license.xml in the ectune directory. That is not difficult did you do that? Does ectune open? Did you go the emulator menu and request the ostrich license. can you post screenshots?

I got the license.xml through yahoo. ectune does open when i delete the license.xml file from the ectune directory, if dont delete i keep getting msgid 003h, and i cant fiind the emulator registry option. How do i do that?

Being that i have ectune datalogging version, i cant select many of the options, I still havent been able to get the license number.

if the license files is saved correctly you won't get msgid003h

thething : it's not an ectune problem, but a user problem. It seems that you are clicking on the file to save it (which should be the way to do it) but I seem to understand that windows tries to open it in internet explorer or whatever webbrowser you have. instead, right click on the file in your email and choose save as, and save it in C:\\Program Files\\eCtune

Yeah you're right. When I try to download yahoo wants to open the file through explorer, that's why I did save it under ectune folder. But even when I try to open the folder, it automaticely tries to open with internet. And I still can't run emulator download.

it's a very big user problem. it shouldn't open you should save it or download it.
