every ostrich gets a serila number; security feature basically. but I always advise: save license.xml to your desktop first; make sure you get the "save as" dialogue. once saved, go to the ectune folder; (making sure ectune is not running) and manually delete any license.xml file and copying the file from the desktop. for the ostrich licensing; it is automated; all you do is request license, then check your email; it is almost instant in my experiences. follow the same procedure as above; but before downloading the new license.xml file, delete the old one off your desktop to prevent any foul-ups. Hopefully you have already gotten up and running =)thething96 wrote:another thing about requesting ostrich license? whats that about?

I arleady have the license saved under ectune folder, so where do i go from there? and how do i get the license.xml file to load into the registration, i tried to do that but nothing happens.

You dont have to do that! Just copy the license.xml file to the eCtune directory. Thats all! But because you are trying a lot of things your not suppose to do, maybe you damaged your windows installation. Maybe thats the reason why you get these kind of strange error messages... No one I know has these kinds of problems like you have now. Maybe some strange security package you have installed on your laptop? Maybe badly de-installed software, I dont know. You work with it, maybe you know...and how do i get the license.xml file to load into the registration, i tried to do that but nothing happens.

first of i would like to thank everyone who helped me out and used a little of their time to get me going. Gaskleppie was right, it was the effing anti virus. i had to delete it and a whole bunch of old files. took me a while but finally its good to go. im about to go for a test drive, as soon as all this snow gets plowed from the streets. again, thanks to everyone, and sorry for being a pain in the rear end.
