Problems with ectune on vista.

clean install does a force update after install.. did you try a clean install from setup?

i just delete in the ectune directory... ectune.exe eCtune.XmlSerializers.dll mts.dll mtssdk.ocx ectune_nat.dll ran forceupdate.bat and all were restored from forceupdate and ectune fired right up...

Still not working:(...these are the things i did. Fresh install of ectune,webupdate failed with error:\"there is an error in xml document (1,304)..\" Tried to run force update with \"took like 10 minutes\" still nothing. Deleted the files you told me to delete. Installed files you emailed me. I did everything i could possibly do and it still does not work.im about to give up on windows vista and go back to xp pro.Calvin is there a way you can connect to my laptop to fix this?

when i try to open a base rom i get \"unhandled exception has occurred in your application. if you click continute, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. if you click quit, the application will close immediately.. also my ostrich says its connected but when i \"put\" the rom to the ecu it says ostrich not registered

then you have to go to ostrich info and request a ostrich license

i did that and it still didnt work...i had to reset it because it wouldnt work so i put my crome program back in to drive it

Did you see a serial number in the ostrich info pane? if so it was sent and a new license.xml should be sent literally immediately to your email.... resetting the vendor type doesn't ever change the serial on the ostrich; so switching back is no issue. So to sum up; you did see it say \"vendor: ectune\" right? and you were on the net to send the license request when you did this?

not having my ostrich licensed will cause the error code and red x when i try to make a basemap?

nope... I haven't seen the \"evil x\" in a long time... weith the ostrich unlicensed, you should be able to do everything but upload the .cal to the ostrich.
