new laptop = solid CEL

hey guys. i just got a new laptop which is now running windows vista home premium. previous laptop was windows xp. i registered ectune and requested a new license with the ostrich connected. once i requested the license i guess it reset my ostrich since the cel popped up solid. anyway i received the automatic ostrich license in my email. saved the license file to ectune folder. it connects to the ostrich. \"connected\" is in green. ostrich license info says true. but when i try to upload my rom it only goes about 1/4 of the way then the upload bar disappears. i cant remember if it's supposed to say upload complete or upload successful? but it doesn't say anything. solid cel remains on constantly. it's in limp mode. car will not start/run. before anyone suggests possible ostrich problems, i daily drive this car and have been for the past 3-4 months before i bought my new laptop. i just needed to register my new machine to get it to work. now it seems it's locked out. new laptop is a dell studio 15, core 2 duo 2.0ghz. 4.0gb ram, 320gig, 256meg ati video. window vista home premium 32-bit, UAC is disabled. FTDI drivers downloaded direct from moates website. shows up in device manager as version 2.0.0.0 ostrich version 1. firmware 20 anyone??

i highly doubt it's the laptop.. follow the steps in the pdf in the hw section.

i read thru the setup information. i changed around some of the port setting for the ostrich and hulog. i closed the open rom and re-opened it and it auto loaded to the ostrich. it appears to be working now.....i don't know what did it but i think the closing and re-opening of the rom did it.........very strange..... oh well its working now.......
