Gear Ratio Learning Tool

Post by civic4g »

Hi Can anyone tell me if it's crucial to run this tool and have gear ratios right or what kind of problems may I expect from running incorrect ones. Also, my gearbox is a S4C (from EDM EK4) and i'm not sure of the gear ratios In the internet I've found this ratios: 1st->3.230 2nd->2.105 3rd->1.458 4th->1.107 5th->0.848 rev->3.000 fd->4.400 In the service manual of my car I got this ones: 1st->3.230 2nd->2.105 3rd->1.458 4th->1.107 5th->0.875 rev->3.000 fd->4.266 Now the 2nd question, can the Gear Ratio Tool help me finding which one of those gear ratios are correct? Thanks in advance

Running this tool will ensure that eCtune knows what gear your in.. This is important if your using boost by gear, and any per gear correction (fuel, timing, gear based shift light). If your not using a gear based functions then it really doesn't matter if you use it or not. The gear learn tool will learn your gears no matter what gear combination, tire size or final drive you have, thats what its there for. Its pretty simple and works perfect..
