Possible Fuel Cut bug..

Post by Bugermass »

Another possible bug .. I noticed whie I was testing last night that the fuel cut settings don't seem to be working 100%.. First I set TPS to 0% which in my mind means NO FUEL CUT unless at 0% TPS right?? Then the mbar I raised up to 250, to get it to fuel cut a little sooner, well if we held the throttle at like 6% and let the car rev slowly it would ocsilate in and out of fuel cut around 320-330mbar.. If I lower the Mbar to 200 it got a bit better, wouldn't cut till about 300mbar and if I lowered it to about 160 it would go away completely.. So even thought it was at 6% throttle and my fuel cut was set at 0% it was still cutting, and on top of that it would cut at a higher mbar than was set in eCtune.. Anyone else notice this?

Yes, but Calvin stated the problem was fixed and locked my threads without waiting for a response. Two of the three locked threads have problems that are very much not fixed but I have very very very limited time and gave up. Goforth's CRX was logging AFRs in the 30 psi column on 0% TPS decel/fuel cut. MAP sensor/MAP scalars are handled incorrectly. The lambda logs plot wierdly, as well. For example, if I have scalars at 4.5 psi and 6.93 psi and the engine is running at 6.92 psi the lambda trace follows the 4.5 psi scalar - not exactly where I want to make my changes.

i've noticed simular behaivors with the A/F trace, but I usually correct in larger blocks then apply smoothing, (most of the time this works well but not always) so I kinda ignored it, but it probably should be addressed..

JD can u mail me the logs... I need to see what's going on.. If during fuel the trace jump to the last column that means you mbar went lower then the first column and an overflow occurd. Please try to lower the mbar reading in your first column. I'll write the psuedo code how it works in a bit...

Another issues I noticed with fuel cut.. It engages above VTEC !!! Today I did a stock B16 and was at like 7K and started backing off the throttle a bit in a corner and the fuel cut was poping on and off while I was in VTEC . . Is this supposed to be possible?!? Also I had the FC TPS set at 0 again today and it would still cut with TPS at 10-15%, theres definatly somthing wrong.. And it would cut at much higher mbar than what I set in the FC settings..
